The reality

Why electricians miss the most valuable work

  1. A "services" list instead of pages

EV charger install, panel upgrade, heat pump circuit, knob-and-tube replacement. Each is its own search, and each needs its own page to rank.

  2. Not saying you pull permits

Homeowners worry about safety and insurance. Say clearly that you're licensed, you pull permits and the work is inspected. Most sites bury it or skip it.

  3. Missing the electrification wave

Heat pumps and EV chargers are sending homeowners looking for an electrician. If your site doesn't mention either, you're not in that conversation.

  4. No photos of clean work

A tidy panel photo says more about your standards than any paragraph.

Different trade, same playbook

What happened when we ran the same system for other trades. The steps for electricians are the same: the right pages, a strong Google profile, and ads pointed at the page that matches the search.

How your customers search

What homeowners search before they call an electrician

Electrical searches are specific: "EV charger installation [town]", "200 amp panel upgrade cost", "heat pump electrical requirements", "knob and tube replacement". Each is its own page, and each page should answer the question behind the search before asking for the job.

Electrification is driving a lot of it. Homeowners adding a heat pump, an induction range or an EV charger often find out their panel can't handle it, and search for someone to explain it. The electrician whose website explains it gets the call.

Property managers and builders search differently: service contracts, tenant improvements, new-build wiring. If you want that work, give it its own page.

Where to start

Most electricians start with the Scaling Package

Electrical leads are among the cheapest in the trades, which makes ads an easy win. It's Google and Facebook ads, landing pages and instant replies, from $1,000 a month in management.

How much do electrical leads cost on Google Ads?

Our typical figure for electrical work is $155 a lead from Google search ads, the median across every published source we found plus our own campaigns. About 42 in 100 contractor leads book, so plan on roughly $370 in ad spend per booked job. The full table by trade is in our Google Ads cost per lead guide.

Should I have a page for EV chargers?

Yes. It's a specific search with specific questions (panel capacity, charger level, rebates) and a page that answers them will outrank a general services page.

How do I reach property managers and builders?

A separate page for commercial and strata work, with the building types you handle and your safety record, plus Google Ads on the searches they use.

Do electricians need Facebook ads?

Less than visual trades. Google and SEO usually come first. Facebook can work for EV charger and panel upgrade offers.

How do I get more reviews?

Ask every customer the day of the job with a direct link. Automation sends it for you.

Do you work with HVAC companies and plumbers?

Yes. Heat pump installs need an electrician and an HVAC company, and plumbers sell to the same homeowners. We market all three. See every trade we work with.
